He wasn't shown much from the age of five to ten, but when he was shown he would bring home a check I'm told; then I bought him at age 10 and have been showing him the last four years.
He's sound, 15.2 which is a big cutter, but he can MOVE and get across a cow. He's been a tremendous horse for me to learn on. He will NEVER not turn with a cow and he's very easy to drive cattle out of the herd on. He knows his job! Great horse on the flag as well and a LOT of fun to ride. He's the smoothest trotting horse, very kind and the sweetest horse I've ever owned. He's honest and loves to be ridden and work. He would be wonderful for a youth. You can ride him out in a pasture by himself and I've trail ridden him. He doesn't need peddling to lope, has a big motor, but very controlled. He acts like a colt and has a lot of years left in him. It's going to break my heart to sell him, but we just can't keep everything we have shown and ridden. '
10/18/19. I just uploaded a video of today's work in a practice pen. Paddy Cat hasn't been ridden by my trainer since January and hasn't been shown since the end of May. I've ridden him, but not on cattle until today. I wasn't happy with my work on the flag due to a recent back injury, so my trainer's nephew got on him (since my trainer is healing from a broken pelvis and ribs) and worked him today. The cattle aren't the best, but trying to duck under him and no way will he allow it. No big warm up or anything. He's an honest guy!
